Strawberry Lemonade

Recipe by Rebekah Winscott

This patriotic strawberry lemonade is bright, refreshing, and perfect for 4th of July parties, BBQs, and summer cookouts. Made with fresh strawberries and lemon juice, it’s an easy red, white, and blue drink everyone will love.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice, about 4-6 lemons
  • 4 cups cold water, divided
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar, adjust to taste
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • Ice, for serving
  • Optional: sliced strawberries, lemon wheels, blueberries, or sparkling water for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add the fresh strawberries to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain if desired, or leave the seeds in for a fresh homemade texture.
  2. Pour the strawberry puree into a large pitcher. Add the fresh lemon juice, sugar, and 3 cups cold water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the remaining 1 cup cold water and stir again.
  4. Taste and adjust. Add more strawberry puree for stronger strawberry flavor, more lemon juice for tartness, or more sugar or simple syrup for sweetness.
  5. Chill for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice with sliced strawberries, lemon wheels, or blueberries. Add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy twist.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
  • For parties, make it a few hours ahead and add ice right before serving. For a stronger red color, add a few extra strawberries.
