Nutter Butter Owl Cookies

Recipe by Rebekah Winscott

These Nutter Butter owl cookies are an easy no-bake fall treat made with chocolate-covered Nutter Butters, mini vanilla cookie eyes, yellow chocolate beaks, and sliced almond wings. Perfect for Thanksgiving, classroom parties, and woodland-themed celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 Nutter Butters
  • 6 ounces brown chocolate melts
  • 1 ounce yellow chocolate melts
  • 1 ounce white chocolate melts
  • Mini vanilla cookie sandwiches
  • Sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Melt the brown chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 15- to 30-second increments, stirring between each one, until smooth.
  2. Dip one Nutter Butter at a time into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Lift with a fork and scrape off the excess chocolate on the edge of the bowl.
  3. Place the coated cookies on parchment paper. Freeze for 5 minutes to harden.
  4. Transfer the remaining brown chocolate to a piping bag and set aside.
  5. Separate the mini vanilla cookie sandwiches and remove the cream filling.
  6. Melt the white chocolate melts, transfer to a piping bag, and cut a small hole in the tip.
  7. Pipe a white chocolate circle on the flat side of each cookie half to create the eyes. Let dry for 3 minutes.
  8. Pipe a small brown chocolate circle on top of each white circle to create the pupils. Reheat the brown chocolate in the piping bag for 30 seconds if needed.
  9. Use brown chocolate to attach two eyes to each coated Nutter Butter.
  10. Melt the yellow chocolate melts and transfer to a piping bag. Pipe a small triangle below the eyes for the beak.
  11. Pipe a dot of yellow or brown chocolate on each side of the Nutter Butter and attach sliced almonds for wings.
  12. Let the owl cookies sit for 3 minutes to set, then serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use short microwave intervals to keep the chocolate smooth and prevent burning.
  • Let each chocolate layer set before adding the next detail.
  • Place parchment paper between layers if stacking.
