  • 10 to 12 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, or more to taste
  • 2 cups sparkling water or soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices, for garnish
  • Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Squeeze the lemons into a small bowl and set the juice aside.
  2. Add the mint leaves and sugar to a cocktail shaker or tall glass, then gently muddle until the mint smells fresh and fragrant.
  3. Pour in the fresh lemon juice and stir well until the sugar starts to dissolve and the flavors come together.
  4. Fill two serving glasses with ice, then divide the mint and lemon mixture between the glasses.
  5. Top each glass with sparkling water or soda, stir gently, and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs before serving right away.

Notes

  • For a sweeter drink, use lemon-lime soda instead of sparkling water or add a little more sugar to taste.
