Easy Star Cinnamon Rolls for the 4th of July
Some mornings, you want cute and festive… without mixing dough, waiting for rise time, or making a floury mess. These 4th of July star cinnamon rolls solve that problem. You start with a can of cinnamon rolls, cut them into stars, bake, and decorate. No yeast, no kneading, no stress.

I make these every 4th of July for breakfast. The kids get so excited when they see the star shapes, and the sprinkles make them feel like fireworks on a plate. This recipe is fast, fun, and still feels homemade.
Ingredients You’ll Need

- 1 can ready-to-bake cinnamon rolls – Use your favorite brand. The can includes icing, which saves time.
- Festive sprinkles – Red, white, and blue sprinkles make these extra patriotic.
- Star-shaped cookie cutter – Metal cutters work best because they make clean edges.
How to Make 4th of July Star Cinnamon Rolls

1. Preheat your oven to the temperature listed on the cinnamon roll package. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease the pan to prevent sticking.
2. Open the tube of cinnamon rolls and gently separate each roll. Place them a few inches apart on the prepared baking sheet so they have room to spread while baking. Set the icing packet aside on the counter to warm to room temperature.
3. Using the back of a spatula, gently flatten each cinnamon roll until it’s wide enough to fit your star-shaped cookie cutter. Lightly spray the spatula with non-stick spray to keep the dough from sticking.
4. Place your star-shaped cookie cutter in the center of each flattened roll. Press straight down to cut clean edges and form a star shape.
5. Gather the extra dough scraps from around each star. Place your cookie cutter on the pan and press the leftover pieces into the cutter to form additional stars. If you have multiple sizes of cookie cutters, you can mix sizes for a fun look. If not, keep them all the same size.
6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake according to the package directions. Keep a close eye on them. Because the stars are smaller than a standard cinnamon roll, they may bake a little faster.
7. Remove the pan from the oven and let the star cinnamon rolls cool on the pan for about 10 to 15 minutes. This helps the icing melt just enough to spread without running off completely.
8. Snip the corner off the icing packet and drizzle the icing over the warm star rolls. Immediately add festive sprinkles so they stick to the icing.
