Pomegranate Fizz Mocktail

A pomegranate fizz mocktail is a sparkling non-alcoholic drink made with pomegranate juice, citrus, and bubbly soda or sparkling water. It’s refreshing, easy to customize, and perfect for holidays or entertaining.

If you need a festive drink that feels special without any alcohol, this pomegranate fizz mocktail is the one to make. It’s bright, bubbly, slightly tart, and absolutely beautiful for holiday parties, baby showers, brunches, or cozy winter nights at home.

I started making this pomegranate fizz mocktail during the holidays when I wanted something festive that everyone could enjoy, including kids and guests who don’t drink alcohol. After a few test rounds, I found that balancing the tart pomegranate juice with a little citrus and just enough fizz makes all the difference.

I also learned that serving it very cold keeps the flavors crisp and refreshing instead of overly sweet. Now it’s one of my favorite last-minute party drinks because it always looks impressive in the glass.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients arranged on a pink marble surface for a pomegranate fizz mocktail, including pomegranate juice, soda water, fresh lime, pomegranate seeds, mint leaves, and lime juice.
  • Pomegranate juice – Use 100% pomegranate juice if you can. It gives that rich, bold flavor. Juice from concentrate works just fine too.
  • Soda water or tonic water – Soda water keeps it light and crisp. Tonic water adds a slightly sweet, citrusy bite.
  • Fresh lime juice – About half a lime. This is what brightens everything up and keeps the drink from tasting too sweet.
  • Pomegranate seeds – These make the drink look extra pretty and give little juicy pops when you sip.
  • Lime slices (for garnish) – Adds a fresh look and a little extra citrus aroma.
  • Ice cubes – Use plenty. A cold drink always tastes better.
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional) – Totally optional, but I love the fresh, cool flavor it adds.

1. Start with the juice base. Pour the pomegranate juice and fresh lime juice into a large pitcher. Give it a gentle stir until everything is fully combined.

2. Add the fizz slowly. Pour in the chilled soda water or tonic water, going slowly down the side of the pitcher. This helps keep those bubbles nice and strong.

3. Stir just enough. Give the mixture one or two light stirs to combine. Try not to over mix here, or you’ll lose that fresh sparkle.

4. Add ice right before serving. Fill the pitcher with ice cubes to chill the drink. Adding ice too early can water it down, so it’s best to wait until you’re ready to serve.

5. Add your garnishes. Toss in the pomegranate seeds and lime slices. If you’re using mint, gently press it between your fingers before adding it. That helps release the flavor.

6. Pour and serve right away. Pour into glasses and make sure each one gets some of the seeds and lime slices. Serve immediately while it’s cold, bubbly, and at its best.

Tips for Pomegranate Fizz Mocktail

  • Chill all ingredients ahead of time so the ice doesn’t water down the drink too quickly.
  • Use 100% pomegranate juice for the richest flavor and color.
  • Add sparkling water slowly to preserve the fizz.
  • Freeze pomegranate arils into ice cubes for an extra pretty presentation.

Variations

  • Cranberry Pomegranate Mocktail: Replace half the pomegranate juice with cranberry juice for a holiday twist.
  • Citrus Fizz Version: Add orange juice or blood orange slices for a sweeter citrus flavor.
  • Ginger Pomegranate Mocktail: Top with ginger beer instead of sparkling water for a spicy kick.
  • Frozen Version: Blend the juice mixture with ice for a slushy-style mocktail.

Storage

  • Store the juice base separately in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Do not add sparkling water until serving.
  • Leftover mixed mocktail will lose carbonation over time.
  • Freeze extra pomegranate juice into cubes for future drinks.
