Star-Shaped Cinnamon Rolls

Recipe by Rebekah Winscott

Fun and festive star cinnamon rolls made with canned dough, icing, and sprinkles. Perfect for a quick 4th of July breakfast or brunch.

  • Total Time25 minutes
  • Yield14 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can ready-to-bake cinnamon rolls (includes icing)
  • Festive sprinkles
  • Star-shaped cookie cutter
  • Non-stick cooking spray (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to the temperature listed on the cinnamon roll package and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  2. Separate the cinnamon rolls and place them a few inches apart on the baking sheet. Set the icing aside.
  3. Flatten each roll with the back of a spatula until wide enough to fit your star cookie cutter.
  4. Press the star-shaped cookie cutter into the center of each flattened roll to cut out stars.
  5. Gather the leftover dough pieces and press them into the cutter to form extra stars.
  6. Bake according to package directions, checking early since the smaller shapes may bake faster.
  7. Cool on the pan for 10–15 minutes.
  8. Drizzle with the included icing and immediately top with festive sprinkles.

Notes

  • Press the cookie cutter firmly so the shape holds.
  • Bake on parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Add sprinkles while icing is still soft so they stick.
  • Baking time may be slightly shorter than the package suggests.
