  • DietVegetarian

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Place one tortilla on a cutting board and carefully cut out a jack-o-lantern face using a small sharp knife.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter, swirling to coat the pan.
  3. Place the uncut tortilla in the skillet.
  4. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the tortilla.
  5. Place the carved tortilla on top, lining up the edges.
  6. Cook until the cheese is melted and the bottom tortilla is lightly golden and crisp.
  7. Remove from the skillet, cool slightly, and serve warm.

Notes

Use cheddar cheese for the best orange “pumpkin glow” through the carved face. Keep the heat at medium so the tortilla browns slowly while the cheese melts. Serve with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or queso for dipping.
