Homemade Lemonade

This homemade lemonade is perfectly balanced, never too sweet or too sour, and made with fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and water for a refreshing drink every time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 4 cups water (divided)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar or simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices and mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons until you have about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, removing any seeds.
  2. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water and heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Let cool.
  3. In a pitcher, mix the lemon juice, simple syrup, and 3 cups of cold water. Stir well and adjust to taste.
  4. Pour over ice, garnish with lemon slices and mint if desired, and serve cold.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water to taste
  • Chill before serving for the best flavor
  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days
