  • Total Time1 hour
  • Yield12 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 10 ounces green candy melts
  • 3 ounces black candy melts
  • Royal icing eyes
  • Black jimmies sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and gently press into an even layer.
  6. Let the Rice Krispie treats set for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from the baking dish and cut into rectangles.
  8. Melt the green and black candy melts separately according to package directions.
  9. Dip the top of each treat into the green candy melts, then dip the top edge into the black jimmies sprinkles for the hair.
  10. Add two royal icing eyes to each treat while the coating is still wet.
  11. Transfer the melted black candy melts to a piping bag and pipe stitched mouths onto the treats.
  12. Let the treats set completely before serving or transferring.

Notes

  • Do not press the cereal mixture too firmly into the pan, or the treats may become hard.
  • Add the eyes and sprinkles while the green candy coating is still wet so they stick.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For best results, avoid refrigerating, as this can make the treats firm.
