4th of July Chocolate Bark

Recipe by Rebekah Winscott

This easy 4th of July Chocolate Bark is made with layers of semi-sweet and white chocolate, swirled with red, white, and blue candy melts, and topped with patriotic sprinkles and candy. A festive no-bake dessert perfect for summer parties, BBQs, and holiday celebrations.

  • Total Time2 hours (including setting time)
  • Yield12 pieces 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups white chocolate morsels
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 cup red candy melts
  • 1/2 cup white candy melts
  • 1/2 cup blue candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon red, white, and blue star sprinkles
  • 1/4 cup red, white, and blue M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make lifting easier later.
  2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate onto the prepared tray and spread it into an even layer.
  4. Place the tray in the refrigerator until the chocolate is fully set.
  5. Melt the white chocolate using the same method until smooth and creamy.
  6. Pour the melted white chocolate over the hardened semi-sweet layer and spread evenly.
  7. Allow the white chocolate layer to harden completely.
  8. Melt the red, white, and blue candy melts separately until smooth.
  9. Drizzle each color over the white chocolate layer using a spoon or piping bag.
  10. Drag a toothpick through the drizzled candy melts to create a marbled swirl pattern.
  11. While the surface is still soft, sprinkle on star sprinkles and M&Ms so they stick.
  12. Let the bark fully harden at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  13. Once set, lift the bark out of the tray using the parchment paper and break into pieces by hand.
  14. Serve and enjoy, or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
  • For cleaner breaks, allow the bark to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before snapping.
  • Do not over-swirl the colors or they may blend too much and lose contrast.
