How to make Instant Pot hard-boiled eggs (5-5-5 method):

Eggs arranged on a metal trivet inside an Instant Pot with water at the bottom, ready to be pressure cooked.
Arrange eggs on the trivet so they cook evenly and don’t crack during pressure cooking.

1️⃣ Set up the Instant Pot. Place the trivet or steamer rack inside the pot.

2️⃣ Add water. Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom—this creates the steam needed to cook the eggs.

3️⃣ Add the eggs. Arrange eggs on the trivet in a single layer for even cooking.

4️⃣ Pressure cook. Close the lid and set the valve to Sealing. Cook on High Pressure for 5 minutes.

5️⃣ Let pressure release. Allow a natural release for 5 minutes, then carefully quick release any remaining pressure.

An ice bath stops cooking fast and helps hard-boiled eggs peel cleanly every time.

6️⃣ Cool immediately. Transfer eggs to an ice bath and let them sit for 5 minutes to stop the cooking.

7️⃣ Peel and serve. Gently peel the eggs, or store them in the fridge for later use.
