Description
Air fryer sweet potato fries turn crispy when they’re cut evenly, lightly coated in oil, and cooked in batches. This foolproof method prevents soggy fries and delivers crispy edges with a tender center every time.
Ingredients
- 4 medium sweet potatoes
- 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon dry dill
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep potatoes: Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut into thin, uniform fries (about ¼-inch thick).
- Season: Place fries in a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dry dill, and paprika; toss until evenly coated.
- Preheat: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Air fry: Arrange fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches. Cook 12–15 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
- Serve: Remove from air fryer and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Optional soaking: For crispier fries, soak cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 20–30 minutes, then dry thoroughly before seasoning.
- Avoid overcrowding the basket or the fries will steam instead of crisp.
- Season with extra salt immediately after cooking if needed.
